Ashton Kutcher recently made a bet with CNN that he would beat them to a million followers. Everyone on Twitter started sending Tweets asking other users to follow Ashton Kutcher. He got his 1 millionth follower in the early hours, having beaten an account owned by CNN for the milestone. Kutcher blew past third-place Britney Spears and her 950,000+ followers.
Now Oprah Winfrey has joined the tweeple to tweet with the twitter nation. Oprah will send her first tweet as @Oprah. As of Friday morning, she had 63,000 followers without sending a single toot. Within weeks, Oprah could be one of Twitter's top users.
So what is twitter some of you may be asking. Twitter is a three year old messaging/microblogging service aimed at friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?
In the last three months Twitter has sky rocked and now become the place for everyone to hang out including Celebrities. And the trick to getting followers is to simply follow back, people want to be followed. How do you know who you are following? simply read the profile and check out their site before following and after you follow you can send them a direct message.
